Balsa or PET core material? It’s not either-or, it’s both for a sustainable future.

Why do we produce the broadest portfolio of high-performing and sustainable core materials made of both, balsa wood and PET foams?

When it comes to quality, we do not make any compromises. We are very proud of our dedicated teams worldwide. Some members have been with the company for decades, passionately and continuously developing and improving our products and processes and reducing the carbon footprint of our customer’s end products.

As a global leader and pioneer of manufacturing core materials for industrial sandwich technology, numerous well-known partners and customers have chosen our core materials for their sandwich application. They made their choice out of the broadest portfolio of high-performing and sustainable core materials made of balsa wood and PET foams.

Our products have sophisticated properties that meet advanced engineering requirements. While AIREX® rigid foams are filled with 50-96% air, they give your sandwich structures outstanding strength, excellent stiffness, and minimal weight. Our BALTEK® balsa wood provides all these unique characteristics and is the only structural core material made of natural and renewable resources. Our balsa trees are grown on our own FSC®-certified plantations in Ecuador and Papua New Guinea.

Depending on your final application, you can decide on the best option for the core material with the help of our engineering team. Their competency is helping you develop practical configurations for lightweight composites, which results in added value and customized sustainable solutions.

Engineers point out that our BALTEK® balsa wood and AIREX® PET foam are THE core materials of choice where they just fit best – below the water line or even up in the air where the wind is blowing heavily.

We support you in all project phases and provide you with services as individual as our products and your needs. Join us in building a greener and more sustainable future!
